Fire Door Installation and Maintenance
You Can Trust.
Fire doors save lives. Getting them right, installed correctly, maintained properly and signed off to the required standard, is not something you want to cut corners on. At Jigsaw Construction Southern, we hold the BM Trada Q-Mark certification for fire door installation and fire door maintenance and repair, which means every door we fit or maintain is backed by one of the most rigorous accreditation schemes in the industry.
We have been doing this work across the South of England since 2018, on everything from university campuses to hotel chains, schools to housing associations. If you need fire doors done right and documented properly, we know how to deliver that.

Why Certification Matters
There are plenty of companies who will fit or maintain a fire door. Far fewer hold the BM Trada Q-Mark certification.
The Q-Mark is not something you can just put on your website. It requires independent third- party assessment by BM Trada, accredited by UKAS, covering everything from how doors are specified and sourced through to how they are installed and maintained on site. Every job we carry out under the scheme is signed off to that standard, giving you a fully documented audit trail.
For facilities managers, estates teams, housing associations and building owners, that matters for a very practical reason. Under the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Building Safety Act 2022, you are responsible for ensuring your fire doors are fit for purpose and continue to perform throughout their working life. Using a Q-Mark certified contractor is one of the clearest ways to demonstrate you have met that obligation.
What We Do
Fire Door Installation
We supply and install certified fire doors across all building types, working to the correct fire strategy for each project. Every installation is carried out by our trained operatives and signed off under the BM Trada Q-Mark scheme.
Our installation work covers:
- FD30 and FD60 rated fire doors
- Fire door sets including frames, hardware and intumescent seals
- Communal corridors, stairwells and escape routes
- Individual room and apartment doors in residential buildings
- Associated joinery, decoration and making good
- Phased programmes to keep buildings operational throughout
Fire Door Maintenance and Repair
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and the Fire Safety Act 2021, those responsible for buildings must ensure fire doors continue to resist the passage of fire throughout their working life. Our Q-Mark certified maintenance operatives carry out thorough maintenance and repair work on existing fire door stock, ensuring every door continues to perform to the required standard.
Our maintenance and repair service covers:
- Fire door risk assessment
- Maintenance of doors, frames, seals, hardware and closers
- Accepted repair techniques carried out to the correct standard
- Replacement of damaged or worn components
- Sign-off documentation under the BM Trada Q-Mark scheme
- Ongoing maintenance programmes to support compliance requirements

We work with a wide range of organisations across the South of England, including:
Our clients come back to us because we deliver on time, communicate clearly and produce the documentation they need. It sounds straightforward. In construction, it is rarer than it should be.
Recent Projects
Portsmouth University — Fire Door Programme
Portsmouth University needed a complete overhaul of fire doors across eight buildings on their campus. Jigsaw were brought in to assess approximately 3,000 doors under the BM Trada scheme, producing a full record detailing which doors could be repaired and which needed replacing.
We completed over 500 door replacements and repaired more than 2,500, all signed off under the Q-Mark scheme. Associated decorating, ceiling and partition works were carried out alongside to meet the fire strategy of each building. An SMSTS qualified manager was on site throughout. The project has led to further ongoing work across the university.
Holiday Inn Eastleigh, Southampton and Farnborough
Jigsaw has delivered fire door programmes across three Holiday Inn properties in the South, each as part of wider refurbishment contracts. Work has included the replacement of all communal fire doors in corridors and public areas, as well as fire doors within guest rooms, all fitted and certified to the required standard.
The hotel projects required careful phasing to keep rooms available for guests throughout, something our team planned and managed in close coordination with the hotel operations teams.
The Haven Nursery School
Complete replacement of all internal doors and frames throughout the nursery school, carried out in phases alongside the school to ensure it could remain open and operational throughout the entire project. Every door was replaced and certified without a single day of closure.
Surrey University
Fire door installation across five university buildings, completed within an eleven week programme. The project required careful coordination around the academic timetable and was delivered on time across all five buildings.
